Reserve an iPhone 4 with AIS

Last week I registered my interest in buying an iPhone 4 with AIS on their website. I only did so because I wanted to be informed quickly of the availability. I also registered for TrueMove last month. DTAC have a page as well but only for their customers. So far I have only heard back from AIS. In an email there was a link specifically for me to a page that gave me different options for going to buy an iPhone 4 from them. As you can see, as of 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Friday is already fully booked. The other timeslots might fill up quickly. I haven't heard anything from True yet even though I am a customer and even though I registered interest on their website. If they don't sort themselves out quickly, I might jump camps!

  1. UPDATE: 15 minutes later and midnight launch is now fully booked. And second round on 25th September.

  2. UPDATE: Now 23-25th September is fully booked leaving only 26th September. It is not known what will happen next week. Will we have to wait for them to restock?

  3. Ambiguous as to whether they are saying that you can actual get a phone at the event, or whether you’ll have the right to reserve one. Wonder how many they have in stock right now?

I’m with AIS but wanted to swap to True for 3g, hoping that True will have a similar announcement before tomorrow.

  4. Do you have any idea of what kind of new data plans AIS and True are offering with this packages?
Will they be accepting CC on these launch dates – i got a booking with AIS :) . Nothing from True yet.

  5. Amen to that (re: True)! I’m getting rather frustrated with their lack of communication on this. They were the original distributors of the iPhone…and thus have already built up a solid base of iPhone customer loyalty. I think they should be at the forefront of this rather than falling behind (and leaving us in the dark).

  6. UPDATE: AIS have now fully sold out of iPhone 4!

  7. I registered with True (my current provider) months ago and have had zero communication – despite the launch confirmation this week.

  8. does anybody know if it will be possible to buy iphone 4 at apple shops?

  9. Richard – do you mean the ‘slots’ are sold out, or somehow that the actual stock is sold out? I’ve graciously been given an appointment time and was under the impression that there would potential be a fancy telephone waiting for me there.

This is seriously dragging on, going to go back to carrier pigeons and parchment if it’s not all over by the weekend.

  10. Ed – With AIS, and the others, we are only talking about pre-orders. If you managed to get to the screen like the one at the top of this page before it said “fully booked” then you should be able to pick up your iPhone on the day and time you selected.

On the other hand, True customers are completely in the dark. I will be going to their iPhone 4 seminar tomorrow and will tweet and blog live from there. Very disappointed with them. And I was a AIS customer before I bought my first iPhone from True.

  11. Siamtwin – At the moment you can buy an iPhone 3GS 8GB at some iStudio shops. I’m not sure about the iPhone 4.

  12. KissTheSky – They are being very tight-lipped about data packages. However, I did a blog here about True.

  13. Richard – no worries, if I end up with AIS and you with True then we can always swap identities!

  14. Ah, also, am I right in thinking that at the moment only True has 3g, and so would be preferable?

  15. Why don’t Apple call it something like a Limited Preview or something other than a Launch. I am a newish, 2 years to be precise apple fan, though some recent manoeuvres leave me speechless. The I Pad, a big iPhone with no phone, the air book, a flawed beauty as it requires plug ins. I would say that everybody who owns and intended to own apple products is in essence a shareholder. After this so called Launch Fiasco, let me tell you, stocks are down, android here we come…….Apple…..in brief….Ram it!

  16. Please spell check my rant, was produced in frustration

  17. In truth it more compatible with the rest of my life anyway, see if you can monopolise that thought Apple!!!!!
