True, DTAC, AIS Prepare to Sell iPhone 4

Posted on September 9, 2010

We are expecting to be able to pre-order the iPhone 4 next week at True, DTAC and AIS websites with an expected release date in Thailand of 24th September. Of course these are just rumours at the moment but AIS have just joined the club this afternoon by putting up a splash page on their website for the iPhone 4.

  1. I’m excited!

  2. Whilst I welcome AIS launching the iPhone 4 (current subscriber), it’s sad that both DTAC and AIS have No 3G network which is an insult to the fantastic smart phone the iPhone 4 indoubtibly is! Until these networks have a 3G + Wifi hotspot setup like TRUEMOVE or the Bangkok only TOT 3G service, it just doesn’t warrant the purchase trying to use the iPhone over an slow EDGE or GPRS network like DTAC & AIS. I just hope the number port service gets sorted out by December and the 3G auctions don’t turn into a farce, so we’ll have 2 more 3G networks sometime soon. More competition can only be better for us consumers, not that I think the 599 baht unlimited 3G + wifi service from TRUEMOVE is expensive, it’s by far the best value package out there!

  3. Sounds good!, but I can’t wait (>o<)

  4. Speaking to Truemove today regards my current package which runs out in Oct. I mentioned I was preparing to move to a 3G + WiFi package. I was told that the current package offered for unlimited (I think it is 599 Baht per month) will finish on 31 September. She was unable to inform me of new packages. On looking at the Truemove website I see that unlimited 3G seems to be being phased out in favour of a bandwidth cap – the largest I noted was 1GB per month.. 0.12 Baht/1K thereafter. I think the cap is to stop users from tethering their iPhone to laptop for net access..

Anyway, the change in the package on 31 September would seem to fall in line with an immanent release date for iPhone 4… Perhaps…

  5. I used to use the dtac net and I was quite happy with the loading speed, but since I use iphone4 which mainly require the 3G and beyond I have to turn to other communication service rendering the 3G having loading speed much much faster than the edge, however I am not really happy with the fluctuation of the new 3G I am using. From the chap who’s using (?) the dtac #0805933772.
