Using an iPhone & iPad in Thailand Tips, App Reviews and News for the iPhone and iPad by Richard Barrow

Thai Stock Exchange

For those of you who play the Stock Exchange in Thailand (SET) you might be interested in a new app for the iPhone and iPad called CNSRealtime. It has real time stock information provided by Capital Nomura Securities. There is another free iPhone app called Settrade Streaming which was released in August 2009. It recently had an upgrade. Both of them work in much the same way. As I don't have any experience with the SET I cannot comment on which one is better.

  1. what kind of a useless review is this?!

  2. your site is also very annoying, can’t even post comments immediately but wait for authorization from moderator which I bet is you. Pick and choose only positive comments for your site?

  3. Charles, most bloggers these days moderate their comments first using Akismet. We get 20-30 spam comments a day so no longer let comments be posted automatically. However, the software does post some comments automatically if it recognises the person as genuine and also a known person on the Internet.

Anyone is welcome to give good or bad comments. That is the idea of a review site. If you don’t like an app I am hardly going to delete your comment. What is the point of that? It is not as if I get paid to say only good things. Nor do I get paid if you buy an app. This is a hobby site that I do because I want to help other people who might be using an iPhone. I also enjoy doing it.

  4. I haven’t used Nomura app but SET Streaming allows trading from your iPhone/iPad as well. Just need a trading account.

  5. Thanks TopQuark for your useful comment. As I said in my blog, I don’t use the stock exchange and so wasn’t able to do a proper review. You need a trading account to do so. My only intention was to point out to people that there is a new app out for the SET. As the app is free it doesn’t really hurt to download and test out yourself if you have a trading account.

  6. I tried both and for both you seem to need a password to be able to get in. How did you get in? Do you have accounts with both brokers? I do not understand how you got screenshots. Often, brokers allow people free access to delayed quotes, but I do not see how to do that. Any info would be good. Thanks and regards
