Thai Election Results for free on your iPhone

Probably the best iPhone app for following the results of the 2011 Thai elections is Vote 54 by Channel 3. They say that the app will automatically update every minute after the closing of the polls at 3 p.m. You will be able to see how many seats for each party and the results of individual candidates in each constituency. The app is in Thai language only.
Watch Al Jazeera on your iPhone
Watch Al Jazeera English live on your iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Covering the world, bridging cultures and setting the news agenda; the world’s first English language news channel to have its headquarters in the Middle East is now available live on your iPhone/iPod touch with this official app.

If you are trying to follow the developments going on in Egypt at the moment, then you might find the Al Jazeera English Live app for the iPhone to be very useful. You can use it to watch the channel live. Download it for free from iTunes. Thanks to @qandrew for the tip.

CNN Launches International News App for iPhone
Following the launch of CNN’s acclaimed app for the iPhone and iPod touch in the United States last year, CNN today announced the availability of the international version of the CNN App on the App Store.

I was very pleased to read that CNN have just released an international version of their popular app for the rest of the world. The CNN App on iPhone is only for people outside of America and unlike the other version, it is free, though supported by ads. When you first enter the app you get to see the headlines which all have links for the full story and also video on demand. You can choose top stories by category. For example for the World or just for Asia. There is also "push notification" so if you want it, you will be notified of breaking news. This is particularly useful when you are following a particular story in My CNN as you will be kept updated as and when the story progresses. You can save them for reading later or post links on your Twitter account. What I really like is the iReport section as it now gives you the ability to upload pictures and video straight from your iPhone to CNN iReport. So, Breaking News is even more so now. I have a feeling that I will be using this new app from CNN a lot. I just wish it was around during the Red Shirt protests a few months ago.

Latest News on Digg
The popular Digg news site has just released their iPhone application and it is free! It is now a lot easier to find interesting content. It is possible to browse lists of top stories in the last 24 hours, recently popular stories, and upcoming interesting stories. You can also easily save stories for reading later and also search the topics that you are interested in. I usually check this app every evening to see what people are writing about around the world.
