Amazing Thailand on your iPhone

The official “Amazing Thailand” application is powered by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). It provides travel guide such as: Destination Guide, Event & Festival, Shopping, Thai Food, About Thailand, etc.

I'm starting to lose track now of the number of apps for the iPhone and iPad released by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). I can understand if they were bringing these out showing different aspects of Thailand. But, this is the third guidebook app for the iPhone released by the TAT. And they all seem to be made by different developers. Why couldn't they just produce one definitive version? Having said that, the Amazing Thailand iPhone app certainly has a lot going for it. From what I can tell, most of the content is taken from their website. The "Destinations" section first gives you a Top 10 which includes Bangkok. This alone is very good and worth your trouble to download this free app. There is also a button for "89 Destinations" which must cover every province plus some major cities. I checked Samut Prakan, which is my province, and I can see it has all the attractions, even the small ones. However, the link to the map for each attraction just goes to the same place. There is also one attraction which isn't even in my province. Hopefully they will work on this later. A big job but it will make it a really comprehensive and useful guidebook app. The other section that I like is the "Events" which gives you an overview of what festivals are coming up. This app is worth downloading and could potentially be very good.
